Meet Dr. Frank Calisch – Your Primary Care Physician
At the heart of Waypoint Direct Primary Care is Dr. Frank Calisch, a compassionate and dedicated physician committed to providing exceptional primary care tailored to your individual needs.
Dr. Frank earned his medical degree from the University of South Alabama in 2012. He served for 11 years as a naval physician, completing his Internal Medicine residency at Naval Hospital San Diego. He was stationed in various locations, including San Diego, Pensacola, Quantico, Guam, and Millington, Tennessee. He is Board-Certified in Internal Medicine and has a strong passion for high-quality, patient-centered care.
But Dr. Frank’s journey into medicine is rooted in a broad academic background—he originally studied History and Philosophy before earning his degree in Biology at the University of West Florida. This unique path fuels his holistic approach to healthcare, combining scientific rigor with ethical insight. From 2019 to 2022, he served as Chair of the Healthcare Ethics Committee at Naval Hospital Guam, demonstrating his leadership and commitment to thoughtful, compassionate care.
Beyond the clinic, Dr. Frank is an educator at heart. With over two decades of teaching experience—ranging from tutoring college students to teaching high school science—he now dedicates himself to empowering patients with knowledge, helping them make informed decisions about their health.
He also brings a balanced perspective to alternative medicine. In addition to staying up to date with the latest in Internal Medicine, Dr. Frank explores complementary therapies such as acupuncture and osteopathic manipulation, offering additional treatment options for those seeking a more integrative approach to wellness.
Outside the office, Dr. Frank is a family man who enjoys reading, photography, woodworking, kayaking, and hiking. He lives in Gulf Breeze with his wife and two children, embracing the coastal lifestyle with the same curiosity and warmth he brings to his practice.
